Our whole life is built on relationships with people, which are built on giving and receiving help. It is amazing how many problems, conflicts and grievances arise because people are embarrassed to offer their help or ask for it. They do not understand when to accept help and when the time has come to give it. And most importantly, people do not know how to make the process of giving and receiving help natural.

To prevent unwanted consequences from incorrectly given or accepted help, it is necessary to follow certain rules. These are the rules of someone who exhibits the signs of a Quality Person.

Seven rules about help - 7P

1. Understand that help is needed

"Our greatest strength lies in the kindness and tenderness of our heart." Omar Khayyam

Help may be needed by another person, as well as by yourself. Therefore, it is necessary to understand in time that you need help or that you should provide it.

Sometimes it is enough to simply ask if a person needs help? Sometimes, due to inattention or excessive busyness, we forget to show concern. Or do we forget to ask ourselves, can I cope on my own? It is important to understand in time that help is needed and to act.

2. Try to help

“We do not so much need help from friends as we need the confidence that we will receive it.” Democritus

Make every effort to help a person or people, if possible.

3. Organize help

“He who does not want to raise the fallen, let him be afraid to fall himself, for when he falls, no one will lend him a hand.” Saadi

If there is no way to help yourself (there is not enough strength or resources), then you should involve others to provide assistance. However, asking for help from someone who needs it himself means putting him in an awkward position. Therefore, you need to clearly understand who in a given situation is able to join in providing assistance to those in need.

4. Accept help

“Character must be shown wisely, otherwise it will turn into pride.” Gabriel Garcia Marquez

If you are offered help and you need it, then you should not refuse it.

How often do people turn away when someone offers them a hand because of embarrassment or pride? And there is no need for resentment to come between you and the person who wants to help you. An excuse like: “I don’t need anything from him” can hurt a person greatly. It is necessary to accept help with gratitude and respect.

5. Thank for help

“Gratitude is a debt that must be paid, but which no one has the right to expect.” J. Rousseau

Do not take help for granted and always say “thank you”, even for the smallest thing (as it seems to you) that they do for you. Perhaps, for this small help, the person sacrificed a lot.

And if the person could not help you, you should not be offended by him for this - and it does not matter whether he had reasons for this or not.

When the opportunity arises, try to thank for the help provided. Never forget about kindness and do good yourself.

6. Help selflessly

“When we are paid for a noble deed, it is taken away from us.” N. Chamfort

When offering help, decide for yourself who you are: a benefactor or a usurer? Help should come from a pure heart, and not from a desire to receive material goods or other benefits in return.

7. Received help - help others

“Kindness is not a science, it is an action” F. Dostoevsky

Good deeds and actions should be done every day, then peace, prosperity and trust will reign on Earth. Therefore, one must be able to not only accept help, but also give it, so that the chain of kindness is not interrupted.
