What is the difference between truth and the truth? Why is truth not always the truth?
"Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a point of view, not the truth" (Marcus Aurelius)
What is the difference between truth and the truth? Why is truth not always the truth?
A lie is a falsification, a distortion of facts and objective reality (according to Chukmarov I.A.).
Objective reality is a world that exists independently of the subject (person) and his consciousness.
Truth is a subjective statement, assessment and attitude towards objective reality (according to Chukmarov I.A.).
Truth is an objective reality, confirmed by facts and assessed by a person from the point of view of common sense and basic universal values* (according to Chukmarov I.A.).
Thus, the words "truth" and "truth" are not synonyms. There is a huge difference between them: everyone may have their own truth, but the truth is one.
On the morning of October 7, 2023, the world was shocked by the terrible news of the Hamas (Islamic Resistance Movement) attack on Israel. A massive missile strike was launched, militants attacked populated areas, broke into a techno music festival and dealt with civilians with particular cruelty. In turn, Israel declared the start of a full-scale war and began bombing the Gaza Strip.
The Middle East conflict (Arab-Israeli) is the longest of all unresolved conflicts in the world. Its beginning dates back to the 40s of the 20th century and is associated with the problem of creating a Jewish and Arab state in Palestine. This decision was made by the UN General Assembly on November 29, 1947. However, this decision was initially rejected by both neighboring Arab states and the Arab population of Palestine itself. The Arabs fundamentally did not recognize the idea of the return of Jews to Palestine, considering this territory their own. The Palestinians have their own truth, the Israelis have theirs. And the truth is that innocent people are dying, thousands have been injured. Mutilated lives, destroyed cities, infrastructure... It is impossible to do ungodly deeds in the name of the Almighty, destroying women, children, the elderly. Faith should cultivate respect, love and gratitude in people, the ability to negotiate and solve problems without conflict, to help people of different nationalities, religions, nationalities, etc. coexist peacefully. Homo sapiens leads to the destruction of humanity with his activities. If people showed the signs of Homo Qualitativus, such conflicts would not arise. The fifth sign of Homo Qualitativus says:
"Homo Qualitative is truly tolerant and deeply moral - accepts and understands the individuality, diversity and unity of the world and rejects double standards in the world order and in relationships. While preserving his individuality and belonging to a particular race, nationality, religion, state, political and economic beliefs, gender and age, he is an adherent of true universal human values. Universal human values* are understood as the right to life, the right to choose and freedom of religion, individual freedom, commitment to peace throughout the world, justice, humanism, internationalism, respect for the individual and property, respectful attitude towards women, parents and children, rejection of violence and aggression in all forms of their manifestation, patriotism and careful attitude towards nature. A quality person does charity, retains the ability for mercy and compassion in difficult life situations. He understands that one cannot be tolerant and indifferent to what contradicts universal human values and what is a crime against humanity." We live in an information space, where the opinion of each person is formed under the influence of the media (mass media), social networks, the Internet, literature, textbooks. Thus, the information consumed can influence people's worldview, control their desires and even actions.
The danger is that in some cases we become hostages of the situation. Sometimes it is difficult or even impossible to understand where the truth is and where the lie is. And the most important thing is what the truth is.
Influential people - authorities, politicians, businessmen - often use information in their own interests. As a result, the information is corrected, the emphasis is placed differently, and sometimes the facts are presented in a false light.
Go to your browser and type the word "fascism". Instead of pictures of the atrocities they committed, you will see girls in Nazi uniforms, Hitler hugging a child. Should this be in the heads of people studying history? As a result, we get neo-Nazis and new Banderites.
Try asking the Japanese who first used nuclear weapons, destroying Hiroshima and Nagasaki?
Or try to say in Europe or the USA that non-traditional sexual orientation is a deviation, you will immediately be called an intolerant person who insults the feelings of "normal" people. This attitude leads to the fact that boys and girls with a fragile teenage psyche follow propaganda and join the ranks of LGBT.
Disinformation is present in news feeds, history textbooks, social networks and even in the words of eyewitnesses. After all, everyone passes what they see through the prism of their feelings and views, through their truth.
How, with all this, to separate lies from truth and comprehend the truth?
Firstly, you need to develop critical thinking and pass information through a "filter", question it and ask questions.
Secondly, it is necessary to study history, work with primary sources and various channels: television, radio, the Internet, textbooks, fiction, archives, communication with eyewitnesses, scientists, researchers. Visit museums, theaters, participate in expeditions, memorial events, listen to different opinions.
Thirdly, each person should have clear value guidelines based on universal values and the origins of their individuality (nationality, traditions, faith). Such a value guide can be the signs of a qualitative Human, which will allow you to determine good/evil, bad/good, truth/falsehood and know the truth.
Only by collecting information, opinions and facts about any event, scrolling through them from different sides, and then passing them through our critical thinking and worldview, we can get the truth and not become a victim of someone's interests.
